Spreads from 0.0 pips. Spreads from 1.4 pips. Both sentences appear on the homepages of real, regulated brokers — and both can describe the same currency pair, EUR/USD. When we queried the BrokerVS broker database of 81 broker profiles on 16 September 2026, we found 18 brokers whose profile records a numeric advertised figure for EUR/USD (or a headline spread-from value). The pip-denominated figures ranged from 0.0 to 1.9 pips, with a median of 0.4 pips; one further broker prices CFDs in percentage markups rather than pips. The gap between the cheapest and most expensive advertised figure is not luck: it mostly reflects two different pricing structures, not two different markets.

This article is a data note, not a ranking. Every figure below is an advertised minimum — a marketing floor, not a live quote — and the way each broker reports it varies. That variance is itself the most useful finding.

What we queried and how

The BrokerVS broker database held 81 broker profiles at the time of observation. For each profile we read the spread_from fact, the commission fact, the regulators fact and the captured evidence source behind them (broker pricing pages captured on 2–3 September 2026). We sorted the results into three groups:

• 18 profiles with a directly quotable number: either an explicit EUR/USD spread-from figure, or a headline "spreads from X pips" value where the profile text ties it to EUR/USD.

• 28 profiles with instrument-specific prose — for example "EUR/USD 0.6, S&P 500 0.4" or separate standard/raw account figures — which we read but did not collapse into a single number.

• 43 profiles where a broker-level spread-from figure explicitly does not apply: stock and ETF brokers, platforms with dynamic or percentage-based pricing, and brokers that simply do not publish a minimum spread.

Only the first group feeds the aggregate. Mixing a Japan-market fixed-spread figure with a Seychelles raw-account floor into one average would produce a number that describes nothing.

The advertised EUR/USD figures we found

These are advertised minimums from each broker's own materials, as recorded in the database with a captured source. Terms change and vary by account, entity and region.

The median advertised EUR/USD spread figure across the 17 pip-denominated profiles is 0.4 pips. (The 18th, finecobank, prices in percentage markups rather than pips and is shown in the table for completeness but excluded from pip aggregates.) Seven brokers advertise at or below 0.1 pips; three pip-denominated brokers advertise 1.2 pips or more.

What "0.0 pips" actually buys you

Six of the eight sub-0.1-pip advertisers pair the raw-spread headline with a per-side commission on the account type where that spread applies. The figure is real, but it is only one half of the cost.

Illustrative example, not a broker quote or forecast. For one standard-lot EUR/USD position (100,000 units), the pip value is USD 10 per pip. If a raw account advertises a 0.0-pip spread and charges USD 3.50 per side (USD 7.00 round trip), the all-in round-trip cost is 0 × 10 + 7.00 = USD 7.00 per lot. A spread-only account advertising 0.6 pips with no commission costs 0.6 × 10 + 0 = USD 6.00 per lot. A 1.4-pip spread-only figure costs 1.4 × 10 = USD 14.00 per lot. These inputs are drawn from the advertised figures in the table above and the standard EUR/USD lot convention; actual costs depend on your account currency, the live spread at execution, and any financing or conversion charges.

The point is not that one structure wins. A raw-spread quote measured "from 0.0" and a spread-only quote "from 0.6" are different denominators. Compare the sum — spread plus commission — for the account you would actually open, on the pair you would actually trade.

Why 43 of 81 profiles have no spread figure at all

More than half the database states in one form or another that a broker-level "spread from" number does not apply. Stock and ETF brokers charge per-trade commissions and leave the bid/ask spread to the market. Some CFD brokers publish average or dynamic spreads instead of minimums, so a "from" figure would overstate their competitiveness. Percentage-based FX conversion spreads (0.50–0.80% in one profile) are a different unit entirely and cannot be compared with pip values without conversion.

This is a caution about the comparison itself: a pip figure quoted by a spread-trading broker and a commission schedule from a share-dealing platform are not competing numbers, and no aggregate in this article should be read as one.

Data-quality notes we hit while checking

Publishing this required reading our own records critically, and two issues are worth showing rather than hiding:

• One profile's regulator field (xtb) lists a Belize registration number under "regulators", which is a licensing registration rather than a regulator authorization in the usual sense; another (ig) captured a Dubai-region charges page for a profile whose UK examples we cite. We used the spread figures but treated regulator text as indicative only.

• One profile (finecobank) carries an internal needs_manual_review marker on its spread evidence; we include its 3.0-pip markup ceiling with that caveat attached.

Any database of broker terms is a snapshot of marketing pages that change without notice. That is true of ours too.

Before you trust any spread figure

• Find the account type the figure belongs to, and whether commission is charged per side or round trip.

• Check which legal entity and country the pricing page describes; the same brand can price differently across entities.

• Ask whether the figure is a minimum, a typical value or an average — they answer different questions.

• Recompute the all-in cost for your own position size in your account currency rather than comparing pip numbers across structures.

Is a 0.0-pip spread broker cheaper than a 0.6-pip broker?

Not necessarily. The 0.0-pip figure usually belongs to a raw account that charges roughly USD 3–3.5 per side per lot, while the 0.6-pip figure is often all-in. Compare spread plus commission for one lot on the same pair before concluding anything.

Why does the median (0.4 pips) matter more than the minimum?

The minimum (0.0) is a marketing floor under ideal conditions; the median describes the middle of what 17 pip-denominated brokers actually advertise, which is a better baseline for expectations.

Are these spreads available in every country?

No. Pricing varies by contracting entity and jurisdiction, and some entities do not offer retail services at all. The figures here are advertised terms, not an offer of availability.
