About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the BrokerVS Team ("we", "us", or "our") handles personal data when you visit brokervs.com, use our broker research and comparison tools, or contact us about the Website. BrokerVS Team is the name used by the people who operate BrokerVS and handle privacy enquiries.
BrokerVS provides broker information, comparisons, research, and educational tools. We are not a broker and do not open trading accounts, hold client funds, or execute trades. A broker shortlist or cost estimate is informational decision support, not investment advice or a decision about your eligibility for a broker account.
This policy describes our data practices; it does not make your use of the Website a blanket consent to processing. Where consent is required, we ask for it separately. The privacy policies of brokers and other external services apply when you use those services.
Data we collect
Information you provide: when you email us or submit an enquiry or correction, we receive the contact details, message, and any attachments you choose to send. If you contact us through a third-party platform, the information we receive also depends on that platform and your privacy settings.
Tool inputs: the Fit Engine asks about your country, trading experience, preferred market, trading style, starting budget, and priorities. Comparison pages use your selected brokers and filters. The cost calculator uses the trading assumptions you enter, such as trade count, lot size, spread, commission, and pip value. These tools do not require your bank details, broker password, identification documents, or actual account balance. Please use estimates rather than confidential financial information.
Technical information: requests to the Website and its infrastructure can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested page or URL, referring information, request time, and error or security information. Hosting, content delivery, and security providers may process this information to deliver and protect the service.
Privacy preferences: we store your consent choices and the time you saved them in your browser. Where optional analytics or research measurement is enabled with your consent, it may process information about page use and interactions to help us understand and improve the Website.
Public research information: broker research can include publicly available information about businesses, regulators, and professional representatives. Public availability does not remove applicable data-protection rights. Contact us if research content includes inaccurate or unnecessary personal information.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal data, such as health information, biometric identifiers, religious beliefs, or identity documents, through our public comparison tools. If you send unnecessary sensitive data, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or limit its use, subject to applicable legal requirements.
How we use data
We process data to display the Website, respond to requests, calculate broker matches and cost estimates, remember privacy choices, investigate errors, prevent abuse, and maintain the accuracy and reliability of our research. Where you consent to optional measurement, we may also use it to understand navigation and improve content.
The Fit Engine uses your submitted preferences to rank and explain broker matches. Its outputs do not execute transactions or make binding financial decisions about you. You remain responsible for assessing the results and checking current information with the broker and regulator.
The Fit Engine sends submitted preferences to our recommendations service in a POST request body, not in the page URL. The cost calculator calculates results in your browser without sending its input values to that service. Both tools keep entered values in temporary page state, not local storage or session storage; reloading resets them. Copying a tool page URL does not share your inputs or reproduce your results.
Older links containing tool-input parameters are redirected to the clean tool page and reset to defaults before the page is rendered. This cannot erase information already included in an incoming request, existing browser history, copied links, or earlier infrastructure logs. Broker selections and public directory filters may still appear in comparison and directory URLs. Please use estimates rather than confidential information.
We may also process information to meet applicable legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, resolve disputes, and protect rights and service security. Information that has been genuinely anonymised so that it no longer identifies a person may be used for research and service improvement.
Lawful bases for processing
Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on the basis appropriate to the particular activity. Our legitimate interests include delivering a functioning research website, responding to enquiries, improving data quality, and preventing misuse, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
We rely on consent for optional cookies or measurement where required. We rely on legal obligations where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law or a binding legal requirement. If a feature involves a contract, contractual necessity applies only to processing objectively needed to provide that contracted service, not to unrelated tracking.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. If we need to use data for a materially different purpose, we will provide further information and obtain consent where required.
International data transfers
Hosting, content delivery, email, and other providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live. The data-protection rules in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where applicable law restricts a transfer, we must use an appropriate transfer mechanism or safeguard, such as an applicable adequacy decision or recognised contractual safeguards. You can contact us to ask about the destinations and safeguards relevant to processing your data.
Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including any applicable legal, security, or dispute-resolution requirement. Relevant factors include the type and sensitivity of the data, the reason for processing, the need to investigate an incident or enquiry, and applicable legal requirements.
Contact messages are retained as needed to respond and maintain relevant correspondence. Technical records are subject to the operational and security retention settings of the systems that process them. Browser consent preferences remain in local storage until removed or replaced, but we ask for a new choice after 180 days or a consent-version change; browser settings may also clear them. Copies of tool URLs in your browser history or in links you share are controlled separately from our systems.
When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete it or anonymise it, subject to any lawful retention requirement and the lifecycle of relevant backups. Contact us if you need information about the retention criteria for a particular category of your data.
Data security
We aim to use technical and organisational measures proportionate to the data and risks involved, including limiting access to people who need it and managing the security of the systems we use. No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a personal data breach, we will assess it, take appropriate steps to contain and address it, and notify affected people or the relevant authority where and within the time required by applicable law. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary identity documents in a privacy enquiry.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to or a copy of your personal data; correct inaccurate information; request erasure; restrict processing; receive certain data in a portable form; object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent.
To exercise a right, contact the BrokerVS Team using the email below and explain your request. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant data. Please do not send an identity document unless we explain why it is necessary and how to provide it safely. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Rights are not absolute. A request may be limited by legal retention duties, security needs, or the rights of others. Where we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason as required by law. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your jurisdiction; you do not have to contact us first to exercise that right.
Children’s privacy
BrokerVS is intended for adults and is not directed at people under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children through the Website. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal data can contact us.
If we learn that children’s personal data has been collected without an appropriate lawful basis or required consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or restrict its processing as required by applicable law.
Links to external services
The Website links to brokers, regulators, trading platforms, and other sources. Following a link takes you to a service with its own privacy policy and security practices. We do not control how that service handles information you provide to it.
Before registering, sending documents, opening an account, or making a payment with a third party, review its privacy policy and terms. Any account or transaction you enter into with a broker is directly between you and that broker.
Informational content and trading risk
BrokerVS content is for informational and educational purposes and is not investment, financial, or trading advice or a recommendation to use a particular broker. Forex and CFD trading involves significant risk, and leverage can amplify losses as well as gains.
Consider your objectives, experience, and risk tolerance, and seek qualified advice where appropriate. Broker terms, fees, protection, and availability vary by region and legal entity and can change. Verify current details with the broker and regulator. This disclaimer does not limit any privacy or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. We will provide additional notice for material changes where required and seek fresh consent if the change requires it. Continued use of the Website is not a substitute for consent where consent is legally required.
